Week 42 - Ragu King

This week was definitely an interesting one accompanied with Anziano Freckleton. It's been pretty fun hearing Italians attempt to pronounce his last name. It's also cool how un-American he speaks Italian considering how little he's been in the mission. He apparently took four years of Italian in high school, so hopefully I'll pick up some tricks during this transfer to sound less Washingtonian. ;) Unfortunately, he's pretty shy in public and has a hard time talking with people other than me and the sisters in the district... A big goal of mine during this transfer is to help him speak more comfortably in public!

I've got some awesome investigator news to throw your way... First and foremost, the Ragù King, Saverio came to church this Sunday! It was cool seeing him walk in the building since he had been an old investigator when we found him, a lot of the members already know him and welcomed him back with hugs and kindness. Saverio has also been doing a good job of keeping us fed. ;) He's brought over a big container of ragù to our apartment twice this week! As for some good news regarding another investigator, Valerio, he's really trying to commit himself to live the word of wisdom. He's been a big smoker his whole life, but as of late, he only smokes one cigarette a day! After he kicks the habit, he says he'll accept a baptismal date!

This might sound like a weird highlight of the week, but it was definitely the funniest thing I've seen in a long time... When out tracting in an unfamiliar part of town, Anziano Freckleton and I ran into a massive group of Africans partying in a little park. We saw quite a bit of smoking and drinking going on, but since we decided to go pay the group a little visit after we saw three of our investigators in the crowd. It was truly a glorious experience. I had my Bluetooth speaker on me that I use to show videos during lessons and was able to pump up the party with the Christian Rock that's on my iPad. All the Africans LOVED it. I was also able to record a video at the extravaganza of four black man arguing about how to say "where do you come from?" in Italian. The funny party of the video is that none of the four men were saying it right.

Me and Osas posin' for a pic

We see this man playing guitar and singing gospel songs all the time
and his purpose isn't to make money... It's just to talk to people
about Jesus! He is a SUPER awesome Christian and now has a Book of
Mormon.
